Como-Pickton Eagles Defeat CHESS
Monday Night, Before Home Crowd

by: Bobby McDonald

It was the Como-Pickton Eagles' last appearance before the holiday break, on Monday night, as they hosted C.H.E.S.S., before the home crowd, and delivered a decisive victory. The Eagles were the first on the board and continued to dominate the first quarter of play, as they held CHESS to only five points and controlled the ball. They maintained a double-digit lead by halftime intermission, going to the locker room with a 22-10 lead.

Third quarter found the Eagles adding 14 more points to their score and allowing CHESS only 4. Then, in the final quarter, Chess added 13 points, as opposed to only 8 for the Eagles, but the earlier deficit was too much for CHESS to overcome.

Leading the Eagles' scoring drive was Julian Ramirez with 15 points and Trevor Cagle with 10 points.

"What is truly unique about this team, is that you never know who is going to make the most points!" observed one Eagles' fan. "It seems to be a team effort every time, and all of them work together to get the job done!"
