Beauty, Talent, & Poise Continues
to "Reign" in One Local Family

Kellie Elizabeth Taylor of Poteau, Oklahoma, daughter of Danny and Laura Taylor, of Poteau

and granddaughter of James and Melba Diamond, of Sulphur Springs was crowned

Miss Carl Albert  State College on Thursday.

A standing-room-only crowd was on-hand for the 31st annual installment of
the pageant. Kellie was one of eight contestants.

Kellie was crowned by her sister, Leslie Taylor, who was last year's Miss
CASC. It marks the first time sisters have won the title in consecutive
years.

Kellie sang "Someone to Watch Over Me" in the talent competition. Her
platform is childhood obesity.

Contestants competed in interview, on-stage question, talent, evening wear,
and lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit categories.

Kellie will represent CASC in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in June. Miss
Oklahoma will compete in the Miss America Pageant.

Kellie will receive $1,000 for Miss Oklahoma Pageant wardrobe and travel, a
full tuition waiver for 16 hours from CASC, and a number of other gifts.

Carissa Cluck was named first runner-up and won the Crowd Pleaser award.
Tori Giles was second runner-up and won the talent competition. Lindsey
Smith was third runner-up. Samantha Gunn was named Miss Congeniality.

Does anything about this scenario sound familiar? Well, it was Laura Diamond,
mother of Kellie and Leslie, that was "half" of the duo that was the first
sisters to be crowned Hopkins County Dairy Festival Queen, when her sister,
Angie Diamond, followed in her footsteps and won the crown. Laura and her
husband, Danny Taylor, live on a ranch in Poteau, Oklahoma, where Laura
is involved in banking. They are the parents of three daughters, yes, "Little Sallie"
is "waiting in the wings" to possibly one day be Miss Carl Alberts State College.

Congratulations to Kellie and Leslie and the entire Taylor and Diamond families.
"I guess it's just because they had such a handsome granddaddy," quipped
a proud "grandpa," James Diamond!
