Dairy Festival Board members, Tom Miller and Lonnie Fox, work to get props ready for one of the
13 Dairy Festival Candidates, at Tuesday night's rehearsals.

Tuesday night found another night of rehearsals in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, as Dairy Festival Candidates perfected their talent and rehearsed their walks on the runway, in anticipation of Saturday night's competition and coronation. "Most of these girls have been practicing their talent for the past two or three months, at home, and are 'putting the final touches' on the routine, here at the Civic Center," explained Lynda Hager. "We want everything to be right and continue to work with the lighting and sound technicians, each night, so the show will be able to highlight each candidates talent selection!"

Dairy Festival candidates watch as board member, Patricia Chase, demonstrates the proper way to walk,
during the evening gown competition.

"These girls make it look easy, on pageant night," continued Hager. "But, they've worked hard and spend hours of preparation, as they prepare for the talent and beauty part of the competition. Then, on Saturday afternoon, they will be interviewed by the judges, asked a number of questions, and judged on their responses. We're looking for the most talented and 'well-rounded' young lady to represent the community, as next year's Dairy Festival Queen."

Instructions were at every turn, on Tuesday night, as candidates learned the mechanics of Saturday
night's show, in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center.

"I'm amazed at the talent we have this year!" expressed longtime board member, Lonnie Fox. "All thirteen of this year's candidates have talent! And, we can be certain that this year's queen will certainly be a talented young lady!"

"Look at the audience," warns Chase, in this rehearsal.

Tuesday night's rehearsals involved candidates #7 through #13 and then several others who had practiced the night before, coming back for another chance to make theirs even better. Queen Katelyn Cody chose to "run through" her presentation, another time, just to make certain that everything was perfect.

The Queen and candidates will have a "free night" on Wednesday night, as the Dairy Festival Board completes the last of the staging, and then a rehearsal of all the candidates will be featured on Thursday night. Then, Friday night is Full-Dress Rehearsal for the candidates and the "little kids," who will be in Saturday night's pageant.

"Things are looking great and everything is progressing nicely," expressed Hager. "We're on schedule for a great and very entertaining show, Saturday night!

"Walk slowly and smile!" cautions Chase.
