It was a festive occasion as the Hopkins County Dairy Festival Board hosted an appreciation dinner for some of those who helped with the 50th Anniversary Celebration, in June, and reported on the events that took place during the celebration. "We had a great celebration and everyone had loads of compliments," expressed Gina Prickette, Chairman of the Board. "We're extremely excited to have Kate Cody and her parents with us tonight, and look forward to completing the year with her as our representative and community ambassador!"

"Kate's already going to more ribbon cuttings that the Chamber Directors and even attending on Saturday's," expressed Lynda Hager, as she complemented Kate. "She's truly a 'trooper' and already fulfilling her duties on a regular basis."

Members of the Dairy Festival Board and their spouses attended an appreciation dinner for those
who helped with Dairy Festival and heard reports of a successful 50th Anniversary festival.

Thursday night's celebration was hosted at El Charro Restaurant and featured time for board members and guests to visit and discuss the many different aspects of the festival, that was completed in June.

On a sad note, Pam Black, reported that one of the regular balloon pilots that always attends the Hot Air Balloon Rally, had passed away this week. A card of condolences was signed and sent to the family.

"We'll begin meeting after school starts on a regular basis and make plans for next year's festival," expressed Prickette. "There's really no rest for the weary, and it will be time to think about a theme and begin plans for the 2010 festival before we know it!"

"We want to thank KSST Radio and Front Porch News Texas for their coverage of our event and look forward to a continued relationship with them, on next year's festival!" denoted Prickette in closing remarks.
