by: Bobby McDonald
The Hopkins County Democratic Party opened their local headquarters on Thursday, at the location of 301 Gilmer Street, Suite B. Local Democrats hosted a hamburger lunch, complete with homemade desserts and drinks and gathered to hear speeches from State Representative Mark Homer, Hopkins County Commissioner Pct. 2 Candidate, Mike Odell, County Judge Cletis Millsap, and Texas Railroad Commissioner Candidate, Jeff Weems.
Some 75 to 100 people gathered to hear the speeches and to pick-up yard signs and other promotional materials.
Also on hand, were Hopkins County Commissioner Precinct #4 Candidate, Danny Evans, Hopkins County Justice of the Peace Candidates, Yvonne Miller King and Ronny Glossup, County Clerk Candidate Debbie Shirley, County Court At Law Judge, Amy Smith, County Treasurer Candidate Treva Watson, and District Clerk Candidate Patricia Dorner, who are running un-opposed as incumbents, this November.

"It's time for local Democrats to get out and encourage their friends and neighbors to vote and to make their wishes known," encouraged Mike Odell, Commissioner Candidate for Precinct #2. "It's important that everyone goes to the polls and votes!"
With the November elections less than 60 days away, candidates will be out making meetings, knocking door to door, and asking for your vote!
