Dekalb Service Award

Como-Pickton FFA member, Paige Cooksey, was honored with the Dekalb Service Award, by the Como-Pickton FFA Chapter, for her outstanding work in the chapter. She had served as the President of the 2009-10 Officer's Team, exhibited livestock in a number of shows, participated in leadership contests, and led the Como-Pickton Chapter in a number of activities, throughout her senior year.
Cooksey has also served on the First Baptist Church Leadership Team and was a member of the 2009-10 Leadership Sulphur Springs Class. She has earned her FFA Lone Star Farmer Degree and held other school offices at Como-Pickton, where she participated in the Band and Flag Corps.

"Paige was certainly deserving of the Dekalb Award, for her outstanding efforts as a leader in our chapter and school," expressed Vocational Agriculture Teachers, Michael Bowen and Dustee Daugherty. "Paige joins an elite group of individuals across the nation to be named to this award and her name will be placed on a permanent placque to be placed in the Como-Pickton FFA Building."
A 2010 senior at Como-Pickton High School, Paige plans to attend college at Mid-Western University, in Wichita Falls, Texas, beginning in the fall term.
