Dallas Blooms "At Peak" This Week
by: Bobby McDonald

Looking for a beautiful and peaceful "get away?" Looking for some place to take the grandkids for a unique picture? Well, according to Jimmy Turner, Conservator at the Dallas Arboretum, who has connections here in Hopkins County, the tulips, azaleas, and all the other beautiful flowers are at "peak"of bloom, this week. The beautifully landscaped gardens are the ideal place to enjoy springtime. "Dallas Blooms" at the Arboretum opened on March 6th and is scheduled daily through April 11th.

This weekend, March 20th and 21st features "A Fine Arts Fair in the Garden," where artists from all across Northeast Texas will have their artwork on display and for sale, throughout the Arboretum grounds, so it's a double opportunity to enjoy the gardens and enjoy seeing art from all across the area.

Another feature of the Dallas Arboretum that you might want to schedule is the 2010 Spring Afternoon Tea. The teas are by appointment and must be scheduled ahead of time, and are conducted from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. They are a wonderful opportunity to gather friends, enjoy the gardens, and a tea at lunch on the grounds.
