Northeast Texas Dairy Show, Saturday

These youth from the Saltillo FFA Chapter were participants in Saturday's Northeast Texas
Dairy Show, with their dairy cattle entries.
In one of the main highlights for local youth, the Northeast Texas Dairy Show, unfolded in its traditional parade of local cattle, on Saturday morning, in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. The Judge for this year's show was Windthorst Dairyman and Registered Holstein Breeder, Leo Hoff, Jr., who is no stranger to the finer quality of dairy cattle. Hoff praised the youth for an outstanding job of presenting the animals and named a variety of winners in each class, as he placed the animals according to the official Dairy Cattle Scorecard.
This FFA member works with the clippers to put a "topline" on his entry in Saturday's
Northeast Texas Dairy Show.
These youth won Reserve Junior Champion and Junior Champion awards in the Brown Swiss Show,
at Saturday's Northeast Texas Dairy Show.
Classes in Brown Swiss, Holstein, Jersey, and AOB were judged, as well as the Hopkins County Dairy Classic Show, where local youth choose a heifer and raise it for selling. This year's classic show featured eight animals that will be auctioned on Thursday at Sulphur Springs Dairy Auction, where local dairymen and businessmen will bid on the animals in support of the local youth and their projects. Make plans to attend the auction at 2:00 p.m.
