Seminar on Contest

by: Bobby McDonald

The Southwest Dairy Museum hosted the Dairy Festival Queen's Seminar, on Tuesday night. The seminar is made available to those who have entered the contest and their mothers, so that they can become acquainted with the many appearances they are required to make, the type dress that is appropriate for the segments of the contest, and the rules for the contest.

Patricia Chase outlines a number of appropriate fashions for the various Dairy Festival events at
Tuesday night's meeting.

Patricia Chase, a member of the Hopkins County Dairy Festival Board, conducted Tuesday night's seminar, presenting a variety of fashion styles, modeling formats, and rules.

"It's just an opportunity for each girl to learn about what is expected during the contest and give each of them a level of comfort at each of the occasions," expressed Chase. "We want each contestant to feel comfortable and at ease in any part of the contest!"

Dairy Festival candidates listen to a variety of ideas for the contest, on Tuesday night.

"About all I can't teach them is how to hand milk a cow!" quipped Chase. "I think they probably need to go to someone with more experience for that training, although I do know how to do it!"

Eight young ladies have entered this year's historic Golden Jubilee 50th Anniversary Dairy Festival, that will include a number of additional activities and events.

Entering this year's Dairy Festival Queens Contest are: Katelyn Cody, sponsored by Mother's Culture Club; Brittney Woolley, sponsored by Junior Waverly Club; Callie Dennis, sponsored by Guaranty Bond Bank; Daci West, sponsored by The News Telegram; Elizabeth Sheffield, sponsored by Dial Study Club; Daylan Burns, sponsored by Southwest Dairy Museum; Jami Scroggins, sponsored by City National Bank; and Mia Taylor, sponsoried by Alliance Bank.
