Dairy Festival Board Celebrates Successful
Year at Chase Home, Monday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
Pat Chase introduces guests to "Rowdy" a four month old, Belgian Draft Horse, on his farm
south of Sulphur Springs.
The beautiful country home of Pat and Patricia Chase was the setting for a celebration by the Hopkins County Dairy Festival Board as they marked another successful year and completed their 51st annual Hopkins County Dairy Festival Pageant. "It's been a great year and we have a lovely queen in Bailey Petty to represent our county and the local dairy industry," exclaimed Patricia Chase, as she welcomed guests to her home, on Monday night. "We had an outstanding group of girls to compete and a wonderful week of activities. Now, it's time for everyone to relax and celebrate our accomplishments!"
Members of the board and special guests then enjoyed a menu of King Ranch Chicken, salad, red beans and cornbread muffins, and wonderful desserts, as they visited at appointed tables.

Following the meal, guests continued to visit around the pool and Pat Chase took those interested on a tour of his Belgian Draft horses, that he breeds and raises. Guests were delighted to learn about the facets of the large animals and couldn't believe the size of the three colts that Chase said were only four months old!
2010 Dairy Festival Queen, Bailey Petty, and her mother, (far left) were two of the special guests at Monday
night's Dairy Festival Board celebration.
"They're going to be giants, alright!" exclaimed Enola Gay. "With this kind of size in only 4 months, imagine how large they will be when they are fully grown!"

The Dairy Festival Board wants to thank Pat and Patricia Chase for the wonderful night of entertainment and fun and will soon begin re-organization for the upcoming year, with the appointment of officers and making committee assignments. It won't be long before they will be assigning the theme and making preparations for next June's celebration.
