Trojans "Come Up Short"
In Wolfe City

It was Homecoming in Wolfe City, on Friday night, and emotions were high. The Cumby Trojans traveled there hoping to bring a "spoiler" home, but came up short, with a 33-10 loss. Their third straight loss in the young season.

Cumby managed to "stay up" with the Wolves for the first half of the game, but their game plan "fell apart" during the second half of play, as the Wolves rolled ahead, scoring 7 points in the third period and adding 13 additional unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

The Wolves scored their first touchdown and PAT in the first quarter of play and managed to hold the Trojans scoreless. However, during the second period, it was the Trojans that added 10 points to their side of the scoreboard, with a fumble recovery by Donnie Rodriguez that produced a scoring drive, ending with a cross into the end zone by Levi Wooten, and Tim Oschitzki's PAT was good. The Trojans were on the board. Then later, in the quarter, the Trojans had to settle for a field goal but, Oschitzki delivered and added the remaining three points to the Trojan score.

The second half found the Trojans "floundering" as they could never control the ball and found themselves thwarted with a series of turnovers, that allowed the Wolves to capture the victory.
