The town of Cumby and the school gave the Cumby Lady Trojans a royal send-off on Tuesday afternoon, as they traveled to Avery to play for what could decide the District 1-A Championship. The Lady Trojans take their 11-0, perfect district record, to Avery, whom they have beaten earlier in the season. A win tonight for the Lady Trojans "clinches" the District title!

The Lady Trojans, regardless of the outcome of tonight's game, are headed for the play-offs, but would like to enter the post season play with the advantage of a District Championship.

"We've got to go and play top ball tonight!" expressed Cumby Volleyball Coach, Shelley Jones. "If we go to Avery and take care of business, we'll bring the District Championship home and have a perfect regular season, something that is quite impressive, and prepares us for the post season action."

"I have faith in my girls that they're going to rise to the challenge and bring it back!" continued Jones. "It's important to us and to the town of Cumby, to win this championship!"

A large crowd lined the streets from the school, and the Lady Trojans received a police and fire truck escort, as they left for the game.

And, a large group of fans were getting prepared to make the long trip to Avery to support the Lady Trojans, in their effort tonight!
