It was a night of family fun and raising money by the members and supporters of the Cross Spur Cowboy Church, in the Pleasant Grove Community, on Saturday night, as festivities began at 4:00 p.m. Hopkins County Stew and chili, with all the trimmings, was served and games for all ages were provided. Then, the music began with a local band providing the entertainment. The auction followed, with a number of handmade and donated items, available to raise funds for repairing the building that serves the church.

"It was a great night of fun for everyone," advised one of the members. "The weather was great and the music, family fun, and meal were outstanding!"

"We raised some funds for helping to defray the cost of repairs to our building and provided a night of fellowship for our members," declared church member, Walt Mannon. "That's what it is all about, getting together and sharing!"

Games of steer roping a "dummy," football toss, horseshoes, and others provided entertainment for all ages.

"The pot was empty!" declared one of the cooks. "Everyone kept coming back for seconds, and I believe thirds, and we kept 'dishing it out' to 'em!"

The auction items were made by church members and solicited by members from local businesses.

"We're just thankful for those who supported us and came out and had a great evening of fun!" added Mannon. "It was truly a great night of celebration!"
