THURSDAY, JULY 9...
FILM NIGHT AT THE CROSSROADS ~ Film by STEPHEN MARSHALL
Doors open at 7 PM / Film will start between 8:30 and 9 PM
The movie projector is finally installed!!! (Thank you so much to Mike Proctor for helping with that. It took all day but we finally did it.) The BIG SCREEN has been up for awhile now. We also put up temporary shades. (The cool looking ones will be ready in about a month.)
This Thursday at Crossroads I’ll be showing my new film about the month of May ~ during this time I was with Lynn and Lindy at Crossroads and got to visit the Spring Hollow Organic Song Farm. When I could I captured moments with my cameras.
I wasn’t planning on making a film, but was so inspired by what I was experiencing that I kept making short clips with all the footage. Then I began to edit the short clips together and a film began to emerge. I think this thing is very special. I hope it touches you too.
The film will start around 9 PM, but come earlier to visit and socialize. This will be an informal bring-your-own food and drink event.
3)
FRIDAY, JULY 10
OPEN MIC AT THE CROSSROADS ~ Hosted by KATE HEARNE.
7 to 9 PM ~ $5 at the door
Come to play and/or sing, or just to come in from the heat, get cool and enjoy some great, live homegrown music. This will be Kate's last night to host before she goes on tour with Adler & Hearne, and then heads off to college. (After that, rumor has it that Gus Gustafson will be hosting Open Mic Friday Nights at Crossroads!)

4)
SATURDAY, JULY 11
THE GREAT INTERFERENCE aka THE RAMSEYS!
$5 adults ~ $25 family of 5-plus
The Great Interference is composed of seven members of the Ramsey family. The Ramseys moved from the suburbs of Dallas, TX to tiny Winnsboro, TX in 1997. The building of their three-story farmhouse commenced, and they set up house in a two-room pole barn nearby, beginning the greatest adventure of their lives.
It was during the two and a half years spent beneath that tin roof that Samuel and Emma started writing songs together. Samuel took up his Dad's guitar and Emma scribbled her thoughts on any piece of paper she could find. They moved into the new house in January of 1999 and the journey into music continued. They kept writing songs. James built himself a drum-set with K'nex, tupperware, and a practice pad and hi-hat. Johanna began to sing.
Then Sam came into a guitar of his own. James got a real drum-set. They began to share their songs with the world around them. They had their first concert at a tiny Methodist Church. Over the next eight years Samuel started playing the piano and the group added bass and electric guitars to the mix. Grace and Sarah Anne took piano and violin lessons. James picked up the cello. Johanna learned the bass guitar.
In 2007, their first CD, recorded at home, was finally released.
And the so music goes on... interfering with the atmosphere.
