In "Spirited" Action, Tuesday Afternoon
by: Bobby McDonald

It was intense volleyball action as the Yantis Lady Owls traveled to Como-Pickton, on Tuesday afternoon for a match-up with the Lady Eagles. Both the JV and Varsity teams saw action, as they begin to get into a routine of play and school starting.

The Como-Pickton Lady Eagle JV Team defeated Yantis, 25-14 and 25-20, in two sets, that saw the Lady Owls struggling with ball control, during the first set. However, the second game proved that the Lady Owls could control the ball, but couldn't overcome a surge at the end of the match-up to pull out a win.

In Varsity action, the Lady Owls won the first set, with a 22-25 victory, over the Lady Eagles. However, the Lady Eagles "bounced back" with a 25-18 win in the second set. A much closer match-up was experienced during the third set, with the Lady Eagles managing a 26-24 victory. In the final set, the Lady Eagles dominated the match with a decisive 25-13 victory over the Lady Owls, winning the game.
