Cagle Secures Early Lead For
Como-Pickton Eagles, Friday
Night Against Quitman Bulldogs
by: Bobby McDonald

The stands were on their feet and fellow team members held their breaths, as Como-Pickton Eagle Sophomore, Trevor Cagle, took the opening kick-off, and ran 85 yards for a touchdown, that put the struggling Eagles ahead in Friday night's match-up with the Quitman Bulldogs. The PAT was good and the Eagles led 7-0.

However, this would serve as the Eagle's only score for the night, and the Bulldogs eventually won the match-up with a score of 15-7.

The Bulldogs scored late in the first quarter and tied the game 7 all, as they connected on the PAT, following their own touchdown. Then, during the second period, quarterback Thompson, connected with a pitch to Junior Blake Hamrick, who ran 41 yards for another Bulldog touchdown and the two point conversion was good, giving Quitman a 15-7 lead. Neither the Bulldogs or the Eagles would score for the remainder of Friday night's game.

The Eagles will travel to Lone Oak, on Friday night, October 30th, and will complete their district season, on November 6th, as they host Alba-Golden, for Senior Night.
