Last Quarter Comeback Leaves
C-P Eagles Short of Victory, Friday Night

On a "chilly" autumn night, beneath a full moon, the Como-Pickton Eagles saw frustration before the 2009 Homecoming crowd, as they hosted the Grand Saline Indians, on Friday night. The game began with the Eagles winning the coin toss and electing to receive, but soon found themselves "punting" the ball away. But, one the Indians' first possession of the ball, they fumbled and it was recovered by the Eagles' Jeff Hendricks.

The Eagles managed a two-point safety, but this would be their only scored during the entire first half of play, as they saw the Indians add 26 points, to lead the match-up at halftime.

The Eagles fell further behind during the third quarter to see Indians leading 33-2 at the beginning of the fourth period. However, a stong comeback of three touchdowns, a PAT, and a two-point conversion, delivered by the Eagles during the final quarter, resulted in the deficit being cut to 10 points, at the games' end. And, the Eagle defence kept the Indians off the board during the entire fourth period.

The valiant effort during the fourth period wasn't enough to win the game, as the Eagles came up short, 33-23, for the night!
