The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles put a "W" in their column, on Friday night, with
a defeat of the Alba-Golden Lady Panthers.

 

Como-Pickton Lady Eagles Tame Alba-Golden,
Eagles and JV Eagles Fall to Panthers

Oh, but it was so, so close! Friday night's match-up between Como-Pickton and Alba-Golden, hosted at Como-Pickton began with two evenly matched boy's JV Teams. The Eagles fought hard throughout the game, but lost in the last minute of the game, by two-points, as they received a "loss" in their column. "They really fought hard and led for a big portion of the game," expressed one devoted fan. "But, they just couldn't pull-off a win! The two teams were evenly matched, and it was a good game of basketball! Final score was Alba-Golden 28 and Como-Pickton 26.

It was a different story when the Como-Pickton Lady Eagles took the home court advantage and managed to out-pace the Alba-Golden Lady Panthers. The Lady Panthers led by two, 10-8, at the end of the first period, but the Lady Eagles made-up the difference, during the second period outscoring them 13-6. The Lady Eagles led 21-16 at the halftime intermission.

During the third period, the Lady Eagles added another 12 points to their score, and defensively only allowed 8 points from the Lady Panthers. During the final period, the Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Panthers 13-10, giving Como-Pickton a 46-34 victory. Saxe Daugherty led the Lady Eagle scoring drive with 13 points, followed by 7 points from Meagan McCoy, and six points apiece by Jordan Carlock and Bre Peoples.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Como-Pickton Eagles took to the home court, following the girl's match-up and were "over-whelmed" by a much quicker Alba-Golden Panther team, as the action got underway. The Como-Pickton Eagles lost the home match-up, 35-51. The Eagles only managed 7 points during the first period of play, with the Panthers adding 15 to their side of the board. Then, during the second period, AG added twelve more points to their total, with the Eagles still just managing 7 points during the period. The Panthers led 27-14 at the halftime intermission. The Eagles came out of the dressingroom, following halftime, showing promise, as they added 7 points to their total, and held the AG Panthers to only 6 points, defensively, during the third period. However, the Panthers were too far ahead and managed to put 18 points on the board during the final period, with the Eagles only adding 14.
