It was a night of spirit and celebration at Como-Pickton School, Thursday night, as they hosted the annual Senior Bonfire, to promote school spirit and honor the senior class. Class members had collected logs, pallets, and other debris to fuel the fire and piled it west of the school, for the annual event. "It's our way of promoting school spirit and honoring a great group of seniors in the Class of 2011," advised Como-Pickton High School Principal, Penny Armstrong.

"We lit the bonfire with a New York Yankees cap, to show our support for the Texas Rangers," continued Armstrong. "We didn't have time to get a Giants one, or we'd have used it! Go Rangers!"

The Como-Pickton Eagles hope to carry the spirit "ignited" on Thursday night to the football game against Paul Pewitt, that they will host on Friday night. Friday is also the annual Senior Pep Rally, where members of the senior class will be recognized, and then Senior Night will be observed on the football field, where senior students will be escorted by their parents.

The Football Sweetheart will also be revealed, at Friday night's game.
