Lights of Life Gala Committee
Announces 2014 Corvette Raffle
by: Bobby McDonald
The Lights of Life Gala Committee announced at their planning meeting on Tuesday that they will be raffling off a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette to help support the Gala this year. Tickets are being sold by committee members, the Foundation office, or on their website www.wina2014corvette.com. One of this year's gala chairpersons, Rhonda Adair, said "We want to bring something all new this year to the gala, by offering a chance on a brand new Corvette!"
All of the proceeds from the raffle goes to support the Lights of Life Gala, which in turn supports the Health Care Foundation. A limited number of tickets will be sold, only 1500, and the tickets are $100.00 each.
The funds raised through the raffle ticket sales will be added to the Lights of Life Campaign & Gala funds. With a lofty goal of $250,000.00 for the 2013-2014 Campaign & Gala the raffle ticket sales will definitely provide additional funds. Due to the continued generous support from the community, the Foundation will be able to donate the entire $130,500 requested by three hospital departments. The funds will be used to purchase a new bone density machine, three new beds for ICU and a UV room disinfection unit which will be used to eradicate viruses, bacteria and spores such as C-difficile and MRSA and still be able to add to the Foundation “Leaving a Legacy” Endowment Fund.
This year's corvette is completely redesigned, and has been reported to be the fastest and most powerful base Corvette ever offered in the car's 61 year history. The Health Care Foundation was lucky enough to secure this highly anticipated model through Lewis Chevrolet, in Canton, Texas. The new model is in high demand and very difficult to get, but one lucky winner will be able to drive his or her own, once the winning ticket is drawn at this year's gala, January 25th, 2014.
The 2014 Lights of Life Gala Committee met on Tuesday as they make plans for this year's spectacular
event, planned for January 25, 2014.
The local accounting firm of Bawcum & Preuss has agreed to tabulate the tickets sold.
Last year's Gala Chairpersons, Arvis and Sheila Tanton, were the first ones to buy a chance on the new car. Tickets will also be sold at upcoming events yet to be announced, but the committee stressed that only 1500 tickets will be available, so make arrangements to get your tickets purchased.
