It Was a "Packed-House" For
Como-Pickton Bingo Night
by: Bobby McDonald
"It was certainly a success and we had loads of participation," exclaimed an excited Como-Pickton High School Principal, Penny Armstrong. "We had loads of community participation and everyone had a great time!
Armstrong was describing Saturday night's "first annual" PTO Bingo Night, that was conducted at the school, with the community invited to come-out and play bingo, with their friends and neighbors, and support the PTO. "The cafeteria was packed with students, parents, community members, and everyone, who must have been just looking for a way to get rid of the 'winter blues,' and have a great time!" expressed Armstrong.
"This was fun and we all had a chance to visit with those people that we see all the time, but just don't get to sit down and visit," remarked Polly Swatsell. "We're always in a hurry to get a seat at a ballgame and just kind of wave and pass, but don't have time to sit and visit. This occasion allowed for a really relaxed atmosphere and a chance to sit and visit!"

Prizes had been donated by local businesses and the fun lasted for approximately 4 hours, giving Como and Pickton residents the opportunity to win some prizes and enjoy a night of fun!

"With the success of this year's event, I can see we'll probably be planning another one!" allowed Armstrong. "When it's something that the community enjoys and has so much fun, we want to have it again! We're always looking for things like this event and the Christmas Lighting Display, back at Christmas, to involve the community and make certain that they know what is going on at our school. Everyone benefits when the entire community comes out to support the school!"
"We want to thank all of those who sponsored prizes and made for a great night in Como and Pickton!" related Armstrong. "I'd say it was a certain success!"
