Como-Pickton Suffers Another Disappointing
Loss To Cooper
41-15
By: Luis Rasgado
The Eagles have started tje season in a slow mode; last week they suffered a huge loss for homecoming, against Rivercrest, and they wanted a "payback" as they played Cooper's homecoming game.

Como-Pickton won the coin toss and chose to receive!

The first quarter Cooper was showing domination as they easily outclassed the Eagles defensive line. The Bulldogs domination over the Eagles paid off as just minutes before the quarter would end they would crossed over Como-Pickton's end zone for a touchdown! The score was 7-0 after PAT.

Como-Pickton attempted to regroup, but Cooper didn't let up as they forced the Eagles to punt!

Play after play Cooper kept gaining ground and the Eagles defensive and offensive attacks seemed useless against the Bulldogs.

Five minutes into the second quarter and Cooper scores once again. But Como-Pickton's quarterback, Zach Carpenter, was determinied to "get a piece of the action," as he held to the ball and crossed over the end zone for a Como-Pickton touchdown! The score was now 14-7 after Tellez' PAT.

After the touchdown, Como-Pickton gained momentum and tried an on-side kick, but failed to recover. This gave Cooper great field position and they took advantage and scored. Two minutes left until half-time and Cooper was still in the lead, but the Eagles didn't want Cooper to take such advantage to intermission. Only seconds before half-time, Zach Carpenters threw a completed pass to Julian Ramirez for a touchdown! "Carpenter gets hurt on this play and will be out for the remainder of the game." Como-Pickton went for a 2 point conversion on an amazing trick play, and Trevor Cagle was found in the end zone for a 2 point conversion.

After half-time Cooper continued their assault.

Como-Pickton started the second half of the game without Zach Carpenter, their starting quarterback, and Brodie Ogle took his spot. The Eagles had a couple of opportunities to score, but they let go of them and Cooper wasn't going to give them any second opportunities.

Six minutes into the third quarter the Bulldogs scored with the PAT not good and three minutes later they scored once again. Cooper goes into the fourth quarter with a big lead of 34 - 15.

Fourth Quarter was on its way and the Eagles weren't showing any promise.

Cooper would finalize their homecoming game with one more touchdown.

"The Kids played extremely hard friday night. we did some great things at times on defense and busted a few on offense. Angel Mercado swarmed the ball and played tough all night. Bryce Steele went over a 1,000 yards for the year. He has done a great job for us last year but it also a credit to the offensive line when you have someone with that many yards. Zach Carpenter had a good game with a rushing and passing touchdown before he went out of the game. Brodie Ogle stepped in and led the offense well in the second half. Matthew Sharp made a phenomenal play tipping a pass from the DE spot then intercepting it and returning it for good yards. We stuck together as a team and really pulled together Friday night." added Paul Tullis, Como-Pickton's head coach.
