Community Players Production Cancelled
For Week, Due to Illness
by: Bobby McDonald
The Sulphur Springs Community Players' production of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit has been cancelled for the remainder of this week, due to illness. The production hosted at Main Street Theater was scheduled to open, Thursday night, May 13th, with additional performances hosted on May 14th, 15th, and 16th, and May 20th, 21st, and 22nd. However, one of the main characters in the production became seriously ill.
"We're waiting to see how she does and make a determination about either replacing her or cancelling additional performances, until she gets better," advised Joseph McCorkle, with the Main Street Theater. "It's just one of those unfortunate things that has happened and we have her utmost health at stake here. We decided to cancel all performances for this week and are all hoping that she regains her health and we can offer the performances next week!"
"It's just one of those things that happens when you have a small, community production group and something that no one can foresee," continued McCorkle. "We're making the best decisions that we can, regarding the production and will know more as her condition develops. We ask for everyones patience and understanding, as well as prayers for the actress involved!"
Watch for additional news on future productions, as they become available.
