"A Vital Experience in the Western Adventure"
by: Bobby McDonald
The Buffalo Bill Historical Center, in Cody, Wyoming, is the Western history lover's dream. The center features
exhibits, documentation, and Western art, of the Western Expansion.
The town of Cody, Wyoming, offers a world of things to do and is a "must see" adventure, when traveling through Wyoming. Scenic vistas, museums, rodeos, and a host of other activities awaits the traveler.
The center of your adventure should begin at the Buffalo Bill Cody Historical Center. The center traces the Western migration and settlement from prehistoric times, through the Indians, and then the arrival of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, to modern times. Outstanding Western art is on display at the center, in galleries featuring oil paintings, sculptures, and watercolors, as well as baskets, blankets, and other period artifacts.
You're certain to enjoy the collection of outstanding wildlife exhibits, in the Wildlife wing, the extensive firearms exhibit, and will want to spend an entire day in the American Indian section of the museum.
When you get hungry, it's only natural that you'll want to dine on a "super, duper, Buffalo Burger" in the museum dining hall.

As you can see from the pictures, (and they only "touch" the vastness of the exhibits), you can spend hours exploring the history of the West, at the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. Plan plenty of time for this attraction.
Meanwhile, across town, Cody features a nightly rodeo, where performances give you a "live" taste of the Old West, as cowboys and cowgirls compete in rodeo events.
Then, if it is hunting that is your specialty, you will want to attend the Big Horn Sheep Association offices and museum, next to the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. It offers scenic photos, artwork, and information about the preservation and hunting of the big horn sheep.
The entire town of Cody, Wyoming, offers a wide variety of Western activities, from dining, entertainment, and special exhibits to acquaint you with the area and its vast historical significance.
