Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo
"The Daddy of 'em All!!!"
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a fun-filled weekend in Cheyenne, Wyoming, as the conclusion of the 2010 Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo unfolded, with numerous cowboys and cowgirls competing for prizes and hoping to increase their standings in the PRCA run toward the finals. Competition was tough, among some of the top rodeo stock in the nation, and the finals delivered with some outstanding performances. A 94 point bull ride, "put the icing on the cake" in Sunday's finals, for the final ride of the event, setting the highest score in the event at the rodeo, since 1988.
With long "head starts" for the roping and dogging events, and a large pattern for the barrel race, it is a difficult rodeo for competitors, but says something about the cowboy or cowgirl who succeeds.
Enjoy the following photos of some of the competition, including the famous "wild horse race" that brought the curtain down on this year's performances, as the final event!

The Lane Frost Memorial Statue pays tribute to all cowboys and cowgirls, at
the entrance to Frontier Days Park.
