Chamber's Director's Retreat Focuses
on Plans For Upcoming Year
by: Bobby McDonald
Thursday found the new and retained directors of the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce meeting at First United Methodist Church for their annual director's retreat. The event is an occasion to welcome new directors "on board" and to make plans for the comming year. "We had an awesome meeting," expressed Meredith Caddell, Chamber CEO. "We've got some awesome talent coming onto the board, with the new directors and everyone is excited about a new year and promoting Hopkins County!"
"Hopefully, we won't have quite as much change as we did last year," inserted Jackie Thornton, who will be serving as Board Chairman for the coming year."We moved the site of the World Champion Stew Contest, and got settled in our new office space, in 2009, so hopefully we can take the foundation we've built on and make it even better for 2010!"

Thornton, Caddell, and other were discussing plans for the next big event, the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Banquet, scheduled for February 2010. "That will be here before we can turn around," advised Caddell. "And, we've got to get plans finalized!"
"There's always something happening at the Chamber of Commerce," warned Caddell. "There's some issue or some promotional endeavor that must be completed, but that's what our mission is!"
Directors accepted committee assignments and then joined the Hopkins County Ambassadors Club for a lunch, catered by Plain and Fancy.
