"In The Heart of Hopkins County"
To Be Chamber Banquet Theme
by: Bobby McDonald
You say it's too early to be thinking about Valentines? Well, not for the Chamber of Commerce Banquet Committee, who are already meeting and planning for this year's event, to be held in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Exhibition Hall, on February 11th, 2010.
Laura Brannon chairs this year's 84th Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet Committee, and is being assited by Jackie Thornton, Lynda Hager, Bob Weaver, Polly Swatsell, Bobby McDonald, and Glenda Bassham. The committee has already met and set this year's banquet theme for "In the Heart of Hopkins County." "We just decided that with the date being so near Valentine's Day and with everyone in the mood for a little bit of romance, that this was the perfect theme for this year's banquet," advised Brannon. "We'll be looking for all kinds of Valentine's decorations and are planning for it to be a special evening for Chamber of Commerce members and their guests!"
The Banquet Committee has already made plans for the meal and have contacted those members with catering businesses to provide them with bids.

Meredith Caddell, back row center, meets with part of this year's Chamber of Commerce Banquet Committee, as they make
plans for this year's event. Front row are Jackie Thornton and Lynda Hager and back row are Bob Weaver and Laura Brannon.
"We're looking forward to a special night, with plenty of good food, entertainment, and the recognition of those special people across Hopkins County, who have given just a little bit extra, to be receiving one of the awards," expressed Jackie Thornton, 2010 Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman. "Tickets will go on sale, following the Christmas break and we're already planning for everyone to begin making their reservations."
Thornton also wanted to remind everyone to submit the names of the nominees for awards to the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, so that awards can be ordered and the program can be printed!
