Cover Girls Compete in Four Events,
On Tuesday Night

2008-09 Cover Girl, Kayla Phillips, shows this year's contestants how to rope a steer,
prior to that segment of Tuesday night's competition.

It was some "tough" competition, as the four 2009 Cover Girl Contestants began their events on Tuesday night in the Hopkins County Civic Center Arena. What began a little bit calm, with the goat tying and steer roping, found the calf scramble "a little bit rough," as Cover Girl contestant, Hilary Harrington, was "run over" by one of the calves, as she attempted to secure her ribbon. Hilary was taken to the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room for observation, but was released home, later Tuesday night. Reports on Wednesday morning were that she was bruised and sore, but planning to be back in competition on Thursday night! Best of Luck to Hilary!!!

The other three contestants and 2008-09 Cover Girl, Kayla Phillips, completed the Tractor Driving Contest, after Hilary went to the hospital.

The contestants will be competing in milking a cow, saddling a horse, bottle feeding a calf, and cutting-up a chicken, beginning at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday night.
