Anglers will be looking for that biggest catfish, on Lake Fork,
July 24th and 25th.

"We wanted everyone to note and make plans accordingly, that this year we've moved the Annual Yantis Catfish Festival forward, one-week," expressed Yantis Mayor, Jerry Miller. "We made the move, to make it easier for those who are hosting the Catfish Classic on Lake Fork, that coincides with our festival!"

In what has become a tradition in Yantis and on Lake Fork, this year's festival will be hosted on July 24th and 25th. The fishing tournament will be both Saturday and Sunday, and the Yantis Catfish Parade will be hosted at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 24th. The annual Yantis Volunteer Fire Department will again host their community fundraising Catfish Dinner, at the School Cafeteria, immediately following the parade, at 5:00 p.m.

The Yantis Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual Fish Fry, on Saturday, July 24th,
at the Yantis School Cafeteria.

"We just want everyone to mark their calendars and come out and join the fun!" expressed Miller. "It's a great day for everyone and a chance for folks to come to Yantis and have a good time!"

"You know "Old Pencil Whiskers" is waiting somewhere in the waters of Lake Fork,
for your bait, come July 24th and 25th!"

Miller announced that Billy Ray and Kathryn Burnett have been selected as the Parade Marshals for the 2010 Parade. "Billy Ray is a lifelong resident of Yantis and has been instrumental in several community projects, along with his wife, Kathryn," stated Miller. "It was the Burnetts who helped 'clean-up' the area on the east side of the road, in downtown Yantis, and developed the property into an attractive row of buildings, offices, and businesses for our community!"

The Yantis Catfish Parade will be hosted at 4:00 p.m., on July 24th, through downtown Yantis.

Mark your calendars and Miller also stated that he has entry forms for the Annual Catfish Classic Fishing Tournament at the City Office in Yantis. "There's some really nice prizes and loads of fun to be had, fishing in this year's tournament," allowed Miller. "If you're a catfish fisherman, you certainly need to be on Lake Fork, and join fisherman from all across the United States, for this big weekend!"
