2010 Lake Fork Catfish Classic

It was a weekend of triple-digit temperatures, a full moon on Saturday night, and countless other variables, but Lindale, Texas, angler, Lennie Haxton managed to snare a 10.80 catfish on Saturday, during the "peak" fishing hour of the entire weekend, and held on to the lead, to win this year's 2010 Lake Fork Catfish Classic. Meanwhile, also caught during the 9-10:00 hour on Saturday, was Carol Young's 9.50 pound fish, that put the Carrollton, Texas, female in the lead for the Women's Division of the Tournament. And, Phillip Laswell, of Lufkin, Texas, also caught a 7.35 pound fish, in the same time slot, to capture the Senior Division Championship of this year's tournament. Haxton's big fish garnered him the $6,000.00 grand prize and a $400.00 check for winning his time slot.
And, it was a happy young man, of twelve years old, Trent Jennings, of Alba, Texas, who managed to snare a 7.30 pound catfish, during the last hours of the tournament (the 1:00 to 2:00 slot on Sunday, and capture the Youth Division Championship of this year's tournament.
