The Brad Carr Family of Pickton.

Carr States "Family" As His Main Focus
For Seeking Office of County Judge

Local businessman, Brad Carr, announced today his candidacy in the upcoming election for Hopkins County Judge in the Republican Party. "With three children being reared here in Hopkins County, I feel a great need for insuring that the future of this community is a great place to live, work, and raise a family!" stated Carr. "We must make certain that the core values that have provided a stable community for us, are continued for the nex generation!"

Carr, 39, is a native of Hopkins County.  He was born and raised in Pickton, Texas where he resides today.

“I am committed in helping our citizens work through these tough economic times by keeping the tax rate low.  It is important for our citizens of Hopkins County to not have to endure excessive financial instability.”  I agree, it is important to see our community grow, and by maintaining the tax rate, it will bring in new businesses, more people, and jobs.”

Carr was raised on a family owned dairy where he currently is the owner of his poultry and beef cattle operation.  Brad graduated from Como-Pickton High School and attended Northeast Texas Community College and Paris Junior College.   “These are hard times for our fellow citizens. “ As a husband, father and businessman, I want Hopkins County to be the best place to live for our citizens now and for our future generations.”

Brad is married to Angela Carr and they have three children, Braden 15, Trenton 10, and London 2.  They are members of Central Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.  “We are proud to be part of such a prominent community.  I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family and to be able to raise my children in Hopkins County.”

Carr was elected as member of the Como-Pickton School Board for three years. “ Just as I worked together with other school board members to make decisions and over-see the school budget to improve our school, I will also work with the commissioners to address the issues in our county.”

“Not only do we need to keep the tax rate low and promote growth by doing so, but to also focus on fixing roads throughout our county.  I feel it is also important to keep up to date with modern technology by offering our businesses technological advantages that they need to be successful.”

Throughout the years, Carr has been active in coaching youth sports, such as, football, baseball, basketball, and soccer.  He has been active in volunteering his time to his children and to the community, not only to teach the fundamentals of sports, but to also be an outstanding role model for children.

Brad is also an active member of the Pickton-Pine Forest Volunteer Fire Department.  “I have always been compelled to do all I can to help others.  My  promise to you, the county, is to serve you honestly and to remember that I will always listen to your concerns.”

“As a Christian, I believe it is important to not lose sight of our morals and ethics.  I feel that starts at home and we need to teach this to our children because they are our future.  I am motivated to making Hopkins County the best place to live for us now and for our children.”
