Young Farmer Calf Scramble
Involves the "Little People"
by: Bobby McDonald
Youth in Tuesday night's Young Farmer Calf Scramble chase the calves to get the prize ribbons.
Tuesday night's Young Farmer Calf Scramble provided a way for the "little people," in Hopkins County to compete in this year's Fall Festival. With categories for 10 and under and 11-12, youth of all ages joined in the fun of chasing calves around the Civic Center Arena, as parents, grandparents, and friends "cheered them to victory," and got a few treasured snapshots. Small calves that had ribbons on their tails soon found themselves looking for an escape route from the "thong" of children chasing them!
"It was a great event and everyone had a good time," expressed Young Farmer Advisor, Dannie Johnson. "It's always good to see former students bring their children out to participate in the calf scramble, as they provide them with good wholesome fun and an opportunity to compete with other children."

Winners in Tuesday night's event included:
Winners in the 10 and under category included: left to right, Jessie Rivera, 1st Place, Ty Stoud,
2nd Place, and Lane Potts, 3rd Place.
Winners in the 11-12 age group included: left to right, Savanah McAfee, 1st Place, Allie Price,
2nd Place, and Alexis Mars, 3rd Place.

Congratulations Calf Scramble Winners!!!
