"Fire Fright" Offers Thrills and Chills
For Halloween Fun

These middle-school aged youth were a bit "scared" by the Haunted House, sponsored by the Brinker
VFD and Burton's Family Restaurant.

Are you looking for a place to have some Halloween fun? Well, after making a trip through the "Fire Fright" Haunted House, located in the Old Burton's Building, on Interstate 30 East, I can certainly recommend it for a few chills and plenty of thrills. I made my way through the cavernous building with five middle-school aged boys, and I can attest that they were frightened a few times, as they "inched" their way along the dark tunnels.

"I wasn't expecting it be quite like that!" screamed one young man, as he returned from running away at the end. "I just wasn't expecting it to end like that!"

I warned one of the mothers that she might "check the boy's diapers," following their trip through the Haunted House.

This year's "Fire Fright" is sponsored by the Brinker Volunteer Fire Department and Burton's Family Restaurant and is open from 7:30 p.m. until midnight, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, October 29-31.

Cost is $5.00 per person for children under 12, and $10.00 for those over 12, and certainly worth the admission price. You can also donate 5 canned goods and get $5.00 off the the admission price.

Proceeds go to the Brinker Volunteer Fire Department for upkeep and maintenance of their department, and you might "recognize" a fire fighter or two, if they remove their masks. The fire fighters are volunteering their time and all of the collected food will be donated to the Hopkins County Christian Alliance Food Bank.

Have fun and support a worthy cause this Halloween, in Hopkins County!
