

Highlights of SSISD Board Meeting,
August 24th
A special meeting of the Sulphur Springs ISD school board was held Monday,
August 24, 2009.
PUBLIC FORUM
No one requested to address the Board during Public Forum.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS
Patsy Bolton provided the board members with copies of attendance counts for the first day of school and reported that the first day went smoothly. 4025 students were enrolled
on the first day of school.
ACTION ITEMS
Along with routine matters, the board approved the following:
Budget amendments for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2009.
General Fund, Debt Service and Food Service budgets for the Sulphur Springs Independent School District for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2010.
An ordinance to levy or set the tax rate on $100 valuation for the District for the tax year 2009 at $1.040000 for the purpose of maintenance and operation and to levy or set the tax rate on $100 valuation for the District for the tax year 2009 at $0.3654 for the
purpose of debt service (interest and sinking fund). A total tax rate of $1.4054 is to be
assessed and collected by the duly specified assessor and collector.
Revision to localized board policy FO(LOCAL) STUDENT DISCIPLINE to incorporate wording to include procedures for video monitoring both on campuses and school buses.
Resolution 5-09 authorizing Board President Clay Johnson, Board Secretary Jack Chubb and Superintendent Patsy Bolton to enter into partnership arrangements with Chapter 41 districts.
