The "Keisler Brothers" was one of the premier performers on Saturday night's show and kept on playing
in the rain.
Second Night of Bluegrass in the Park
Gets "Damp"
by: Bobby McDonald

The group "High Strung" from Paris was popular with the crowd on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Saturday night provided another night of Bluegrass music in Heritage Park and for those that "braved" the rainy conditions, a great show awaited them. Four groups were scheduled again for Saturday night's performance and when thunderstorms moved through the area, the program had to be "cut short." However, the last two groups performing, "Blue River" and the "Keisler Brothers" joined forces for a 20 minute jam session that certainly gave the ticket holders their money's worth.
"I hate that it rained but the last twenty minutes of performance in the rain was worthy of getting a little bit damp!" exclaimed Rick Wilson, a member of the sponsoring Historical Society. "They certainly 'put on a show' and gave everyone a great performance, rain and all! It's a prime example of talented musicians that love to play!"

This young man from Wills Point brought his banjo along and
got an opportunity to "pick and grin" with some of the
performers on Saturday night's show!

Saturday night's show began with a performance by "Brushy Creek" and continued with a performance by the popular "High Strung" of Paris, Texas, that had performed on Friday night.
"We drove all this way and love to play good Bluegrass music," exclaimed a member of the Keisler Brothers Band, as they explained the performance in the rain. "As long as it isn't lightning and dangerous, we won't let a little bit of rain stop us!"

The rain may have "run" the Keisler Brothers under the front porch of the Historic Church,
but it didn't stop them from playing their music, on Saturday night.
For those of you who enjoy Bluegrass music, remember that the Pickton Bluegrass Festival is hosted monthly, usually on the third Saturday night of each month, in the Pickton Community Center. Then, in August the South Sulphur River Association will host their 2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival at the Amphitheater at Cooper Lake, watch for upcoming advertisements on these events!

Dark clouds and rain "dampened" those who attended Saturday night's venue, but many sought shelter
beneath the historic buildings and continue to listen to the wonderful music delivered by the performers.
