Birthright United Methodist to Host
Fall Festival, October 9th
From Paul Bailey
Birthright United Methodist Church will celebrate its Fall Festival event Saturday on Oct.9 at the church, located on Highway 71, one mile east of Highway 19 North.
Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature Hopkins County beef and chicken stew, cornbread and all the trimmings, chili, and homemade desserts of all kinds made by the great cooks at the church. Adults can eat for $5 and children under 12 for only $3.
A live auction will begin around 6:30 p.m. and will include a beautiful quilt that won the “Viewer’s Choice Award” at the recent Lone Star Heritage Quilt Guild Show. Members of the Wanna Bee’s Sewing Circle that meets at Birthright UMC made the quilt.

The quilt, which won the "Viewer's Choice Award" at the recent Lone Star Heritage Quilt Show during the Fall Festival,
was made by the Wanna Bee's Sewing Circle that meets at Birthright United Methodist Church. They donate it to help the church raise funds for its mission work.

There will also be many big and small necessary items in the auction, including gift items, baked goods and crafts. Door prizes will be given during the auction.
Proceeds from the festival are used to support the church mission fund and its local scholarship fund at North Hopkins ISD.
