Bike Helmet Rodeo

Hopkins County Memorial Hospital and Hopkins County EMS hosted their 11th annual Bike Helmet Rodeo. The bike rodeo is for held for all first graders in Sulphur Springs. The rodeo is to help teach the children the importance of riding a bike with a helmet.

Sherry Moore, the Marketing Director at Memorial Hospital, along with RAC helped fund all first graders with helmets to take home with them.

The Rodeo was made up into a bike course, where students from Health Science Technology taught the first graders how to safely ride their bike. The course was made up into 4 parts. The Demon Driveway is the first section, where the students learn that leaving their driveway is the number one issue with bike accidents.

There is also the crazy crossway where they have to look both ways then walk their bike across the path. Also the rock drive, so they can learn how to dodge rocks, and ending with the slow race.
