There's no better way to welcome the spring season than with a trip to the Dallas Arboretum, just a glimpse of the beautiful gardens makes one get spring fever, and the warm weather and pleasant temperatues make for the perfect day to enjoy the spectacular flower show. This season marks the 25th Anniversary of the "Dallas Blooms" series and provides yet another gorgeous showing of spring blooms.

The show began on March 7th and continues through April 12th, with the ground open from 9:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m., daily. Featured are over 450,000 spring-blooming bulbs, including tulips, daffodils, Dutch iris, and hyacinth, along with the over 100,000 pansises, violas, poppies, and thousands of other spring blooming annuals and perennials. Add to that over 3000 azaleas and you have a flower show to remember.

The Dallas Arboretum is a great place to take a picnic lunch for your family and enjoy the day. Daily there is music on the DeGolyer Loggia from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and on weekends there are free classical music concerts from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. With the blooms making the perfect backdrop, it's the perfect place to make Easter photos, to cherish the season and make a memory.

March 9th through May 29th, the Arboretum features "Spring Tea at the Arboretum," weekdays at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., in the DeGolyer Garden Tea Room. The menu includes a first course of Strawberry Soup with Almond Crisp; a second course of tea sandwiches; and a third couse of pecan tarts, Amaretto brownies, and other desserts. Tea selections include: Apricot Orange, Orange spice, Strawberry vanilla, Peach ginger, or Darjeeling. Phone (214)515-6610 for reservations and pricing options.

The Dallas Arboretum will feature an Eddie Coker Children's Concert, on Friday, April 10th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to celebrate the Easter Weekend. Also, on Saturday April 11th, from 12-4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 12th, from 1:00-4:00 p.m., James French will be available to take live bunny photos for $15.00 each.
Then, starting on May 1st the Dallas Arboretum will completely change out the color beds with over 80,000 blooming annuals, that will be showcased during the May Flower Festival, that runs from May 1 - 31st. Also, on May 25th, there will be a special Memorial Day Concert, featured in the gardens, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
