Weather was damp, following a downpour in Hopkins County, on Thursday, so the Pilot Club decided to move their annual Alzheimer's Walk, "A Walk to Remember," inside, to accommodate participants. "It's certainly a 'walk to remembers,' as it is about the wettest we'll probably see Hopkins County, in our lifetimes," expressed Pilot Club member Jackie Thornton, who is also Director of the Hospital Foundation. "It just seemed pointless to have everyone out in the damp and cold, as the cold front moved through Hopkins County, when we had facilities inside to accommodate the crowd!"

Luminaries were purchased by individual families, in honor and memory of their loved ones,
and helped to bring this year's fundraising total to more than $13,000.00.

"We had a wonderful effort for this year!" exclaimed Thornton. "Our mini-walk total exceeded $10,000.00, significantly showing that this community has a heart for Alzheimer's Disease and appreciates the work that Terrific Tuesday's does in our community. They will be the benefactors for this year's fundraising efforts!"

The Alzheimer's Walk is sponsored by the Sulphur Springs Pilot Club, as one of their many community projects. "We had great participation this year and we're proud to award prizes to Carriage House Manor Nursing Home for raising $5,200.42 in their mini-walk, and receiving the top prize," announced Pilot Club Members.

Second Prize was won by Sunny Springs Nursing Home, and third prize was awarded to Rock Creek Health and Rehab Center.

Several local health agencies provided booths at Thursday's event, to introduce the community to their services.
