SULPHUR SPRINGS BANKER ELECTED

OFFICER ON IBAT LEADERSHIP BOARD

Kevin Monk, senior vice president of Alliance Bank in Sulphur Springs, has been elected to serve as secretary-treasurer of the Leadership Division of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT).

Monk will be an integral part of the team leading the more than 500-member organization for 2010-2011, joining President Gary Wells of Happy State Bank in Amarillo; President-Elect Angie Brown of First National Bank in Giddings; and Vice President Brandon Bartek of Mills County State Bank in Early.

“It is fitting that Kevin will serve in a leadership role in what has grown to be the nation’s premier organization of its kind dedicated to the development of tomorrow’s community bankers,” IBAT President/CEO Christopher L. Williston said.  “The IBAT Leadership Division is bridging the gap for many of today’s and tomorrow’s banking stars.”

The membership of the 25-year-old organization also elected Charlie Rand of Bank Texas in Lindale, John G. “Butch” Northcut of Stockmens National Bank in Cotulla and William “Dub” Sutherland, VI of TransPecos Banks in San Antonio to the board of directors.
