Local Author Releases Latest Book
in Time for Holidays

by: Bobby McDonald

If you're like me, you've read them all....."Biscuits Across the Brazos," and the River's Trilogy...."In the Rivers' Flow," "Rivers Crossing," and "Rivers Ebb." Well, just in time for the holidays, Jim Ainsworth has brought us another chapter in the famous Rivers Family, with his release of "Home Light Burning."

We "met up" with Jim at a book signing in Commerce, on Thursday night, held at the Texas A&M University-Commerce Alumni Center, where he was promoting this latest gem. "This one's been a little bit more difficult to research," explained Ainsworth. "It was some 'old notes' and stories from my Rivers ancestors and I kept running into 'dead ends,' as I began researching. But, through perseverance and some help from several people, I was able to unravel the tale and complete the book!"

Ainsworth follows his great-grandfather, Lev Rivers, and his brother, Hy, from the Civil War, as the two Confederate rebels make their way home to the Navarro and Ellis County lines, following a great battle on the Yellow Bayou in Louisiana. Trouble just seems to follow the two remarkable young men, as they attempt to "settle" into a life, following the war.

Like all of the other Ainsworth books, this one captivates you immediately and you find yourself leaving work undone, just to read the next page!

I started the book last night, and it's hard to write this story, because I want to be reading.....I've already planned a lunch in a quiet place so I can read the next chapter and find out about Lev and Hy!

The book makes the perfect Christmas gift for the reader on your list, and can be purchased via Ainsworth's web site, www.JIMAINSWORTH.COM.

Enjoy this latest chapter in one of the most remarkable families in Northeast Texas, brought to you with the skillful pen of a native son!
