Sulphur Springs Gave an outstanding example of what the true meaning of perseverance is Tuesday night against Wills Point.
Sulphur Springs had everything under control the first half of the game. The Wildcats were giving Wills Point a hard time and couldn't quite match up to Sulphur Springs offense and defensive plays.
The Wildcats since the first period was showing superiority and was scoring point after point putting them ahead by 6 points in the first half.

After the half-time pep talk, a different Wills Point came out of the locker room. Sulphur Springs got a little bit too confident and Wills Point took advantage. The Wildcats started struggling and kept missing easy lay-ups and easy wide open shots. Wills Point finally caught up with Sulphur Springs and was in the lead with two points, but just seconds before the buzzer in the third period, the Wildcats took a three point lead.

The fourth period was the longest and most exciting period for the Wildcats and fans. Sulphur Springs was still in the lead, but Wills Point was still right behind them. The Wildcats were in a tight spot, they kept missing easy shots and Wills Point wasn't going to let up. Only minutes before the game would end, Wills Point would finally take a 1 point lead and kept this lead with only seconds left on the clock. The Wildcats needed a miracle, and with only 6.9 seconds left, Sulphur Springs scored giving them a 48-47 lead! Wills Point then was forced to call a time-out. Sulphur Springs had to play smart and not foul and try to run the clock. Wills Point had a plan, but with only seconds on the clock the only thing left was to shoot for the basket and indeed that's what they did. The ball was shot, it went in the basket then rolled out and that would end the game.
