Paralympian Motivates Sulphur Springs Teachers

Sulphur Springs gathered their faculty together at the Civic Center Monday morning to introduce the new coming teachers into the district. After the teachers were announced, they sat and watched "For the Love Of It" a video by Dewitt Jones, a Photographer with the National Geographic. In the short video Jones speaks of " Love what you do not out of necessity but for love" and " You can't wait for it to come to you, You have to chase it and find it today." It was a good incentive for the teachers to love what they do.

After the video they had Motivational Speaker Randy Snow, a Paralympian, who gave an extremely inspiring speech. His three main topics were Attitude, Accountability, and Action. He is a speaker of experience and would know as much or maybe more than anyone about change. He received a Scholarship from the University of Texas to play tennis, but a thousand pound bale of hay rolled over on him and broke his back. He had a drive in him and soon he became one of the most successful Paralympian athletes in history. He was the first Paralympain inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame. As gold medallist Randy Snow knows "that the toughest competitor you will ever face is yourself."

The Teachers of Sulphur Springs couldn't ask for a better Inspiration than Randy Snow. They enjoyed listening to his humor and the drive he can put in you by his life story, a business partner, a gold medallist, and just an all around good person.
