Stood Together Strong As They Took Win Over Mt. Pleasant

42-13

It was Friday Night Lights for Sulphur Springs as they faced off with the Mt. Pleasant Tigers.

Sulphur Springs was coming in with great confidence as they dominated Greenville, in last Friday night'ss game.

Here are some highlights of the game:

It was kick-off time and Sulphur Springs won the toss and choose to receive. It wasn't long before the Wildcats started to put pressure on Mt. Pleasant as Cody Clayton and Kendrick Daniels moved the ball from their 30 yard line to the Tigers 40. Mt. Pleasant defensive line held strong and stopped Sulphur Springs, it was still early in the game and the offensive coach sends Arellano for a 53 Field Goal attempt, which was not good.

Mt. Pleasant started to implement their own game. With only three plays they managed to get from the Wildcats 40 to their 11 yard line, but the Wildcat defensive line also showed that they weren't going to be overrun by theTigers. With only 7 minutes played of the first quarter the Wildcats were ready to put some points on the scored board. A couple of runs by Cody Clayton and a completed Owens pass to Kendrick Daniels put the Wildcats in the end zone. Touchdown Wildcats!! With Arellano PAT, Sulphur Springs enters into the 2nd quarter 7-0.

"From the start of the game, you could see a winning spirit," happily express a Wildcat fan.

The Wildcats fan and players were "pumped up" after Daniels touchdown and they were ready to play a 2nd quarter   Mt. Pleasant's Defence couldn't handle the offensive line pressure as Sulphur Springs from the beginning of the 2nd quarter started to run the ball, and earned a string of first downs.

The Wildcats were at their 45 and a completed Owens pass to Cody Clayton put the game 14-0, with a good PAT. Mt. Pleasant wasn't pressuring the defensive and Sulphur Springs took advantage of this as they kept forcing the Tigers to turnovers. With only 6 minutes left of the 2nd quarter, the Tigers were forced to punt. But a slip-up on the return by Alvin Frazier, forced a fumble and Mt. Pleasant recovers the ball. But, Mt. Pleasant didn't take advantage of this opportunity and the Wildcats forced a turnover, themselves. The Wildcats took advantage of their turnover recovery and scored the third touchdown of the night, before completing the second half.

Wildcats go to Half-time 21-0

The second half of play was equally exciting, if you were a Wildcat fan, with the Wildcats scoring three more touchdowns and PAT's. The Tigers, whose game plan was to "wear-down" the Wildcats and "eat up the clock," had found a fomidable foe in Sulphur Springs.

The Tiger Offense scored twice during the second half, and missed a PAT, to find the final scoreboard reading 42-13.

The Wildcats Add Another "W" in their column

As they defeat Mt. Pleasant 42-13!!
