Cumby, Tuesday Night

It was a great night of competitive basketball in Cumby, Tuesday night, as the Trojans hosted the neighboring Yantis Owls. The Yantis Owl J.V. Boys took the first game of the night from the Trojan J.V. Team, with an impressive 44-27 victory, on the Trojan's home court.

Next, the Lady Trojans and the Lady Owls took the court, in an evenly matched game, that found the Lady Owls trailing two-points, at the end of the first quarter 11-9, and they could never managed to regain a lead throughout the night, because of some outstanding three-point shots from the Lady Trojans. The Lady Trojans were ahead 27-25 at the halftime intermission and led 40-38, at the end of the third period. Then, during a last quarter effort, the Lady Trojans "poured it on" with some tough defense and managed to outscore the visiting Lady Owls by four additional points. The final score was 50-52, in favor of the hosting Lady Trojans.

When the Yantis Owls took the court, it was evident that they would "over-power" the hosting Cumby Trojans, but the Trojans gave a valiant effort for the night's game. The Owls outscored the Trojans 13-6 in the first period and led by 36 to 14 at the halftime intermission. During the third period, the Owls increased their lead to 52-18 and managed to take a 63-27 victory, on the road, protecting their perfect district record, to date.
