To Chisum
40-22
By: Luis Rasgado
"It was a chilly night for Como-Pickton"

From Paul Tullis, Como-Pickton Head Football Coach:
" I felt like the kids played hard last night. Chisum had some big kids that made it hard for us to get through on defense. Injuries hurt us a little last night, but we had some of the other players step up and played great. Its always hard seeing your seniors play their last game and knowing that team will never get to play another game together. This bunch of kids are very close and have made friendships and memories that will last them a life time. I want to thank all of my seniors for the solid foundation of team concept they set this year. We have a lot of areas to improve on and we are going to work hard this off season to improve on the gains we made this year. Fortunately we will bring back a lot of experience next year."

Here are some of the Highlights of the second half of the game:
Como-Pickton started off the first half playing like the pros. They never gave up and battled against a bigger and tough Chisum. Como-Pickton managed to score 14 points on the Mustangs. It was a close game and Chisum only lead by a touchdown.

Chisum resumed the second half by kicking the ball to the Eagles 10 yard line and were stopped there. Como-Pickton was soon forced to punt and Chisum would get ball possession at the 50 yard line. Como-Pickton was determined to get the ball back and to give Chisum a hard battle on the field. After the punt the Mustangs tried to run the ball down the middle, but the Eagles forced a fumble and recovered the ball. It was a back to back game and both teams were playing evenly. It wasn't until two minutes after the 3rd quarter would end that Chisum penetrated the Eagles defensive line and crossed over Como-Pickton's End-Zone. Chisum would try a two point conversion which was good.

Even after the touchdown, Como-Pickton wasn't going to lose hope yet. Trevor Cagle would receive the Kick-off at the Eagles 20 yard line and would manage to get to the 30. Slowly, but steady Como-Pickton was gaining yardage, but the Mustangs defensive line would later force a fumble to give them ball possession at the Eagles 35 yard line. Chisum would get to the Eagles 15 yard line, but Como-Pickton defense demonstrated to Chisum that they were also capable of working together and they also forced Chisum to fumble only yards from the Eagles End-Zone.

Como-Pickton would go into the fourth quarter with ball possession at their 15 yard line. The Eagles couldn't quite get through Chisum's defensive line and were soon forced to punt. Chisum would start at their 30 yard line and would get over to their 40 yard line and the Eagles would also force the Mustangs to punt. Como-Pickton would renew their offensive tactics at their 25. On the Eagles first play Matthew would manage to get only a couple of yards. On the second play Zach Carpenter tried a pass to Trevor Cagle, but the ball was intercepted. This would would give Chisum a scoring opportunity. The Mustangs didn't lose time and soon crossed over the Eagles End-Zone and the PAT is not good. Chisum would take a bigger lead of 34-14.

Chisum now had a bigger lead and there was only four minutes left of the fourth quarter. Como-Pickton tried to regroup after Chisum's touchdown, but were soon stopped by the Mustangs. Chisum scored one last time with only a couple of minutes left giving them a bigger lead of 40-14.

Como-Pickton soon matched up with Chisum and managed to push the Mustangs back.

Only seconds left and Como-Pickton was only yards away from the Mustangs End-Zone. Zach Carpenter would throw a short complete pass to Julian Ramirez for a Touchdown Eagles!! Como-Pickton gave the ball to Coyt Butler who ran it down the middle for the two point conversion.
