Hopkins County 4-H program celebrates their annual banquet with a Luau Party and adwards ceremony. The adults and children came dressed in their best Hawaiian shirts and Leis. The Banquet began with a Slideshow of events they had done within the past year and then everyone dug in for some barbecue, potato salad, beans, and ice tea.

After everyone began settling down, the awards ceremony began. An award was given out to the Outstanding Juniors, Intermediate, and The Leaders of the Year. The Outstanding Juniors were Wesley McDonald and Breanna Bowen. Outstanding Intermediate was Katelyn McDonald, and the Voluntary Leaders of the Year were Amy Bowen and Robert Nellis.

After the adwards they announced the officers and President of 4-H 2009-2010. The officers were Sarah Forsman, DJ Nellis, Brooke Bailey, Wesley McDonald, Kayla Phillips, and The Vice President Katelyn McDonald. President of the 09-10 year is Travis Hicks.

Closing up the night, the pledge to 4-H was recited and they welcomed in their new member as they put together the 4 leaf clover (symbol for 4-H). It was an enjoyable event for all the 4-H members and their familes. We look foward to seeing the members at events around the county, expecially in their new horse show event at the Fall Festival.
