37 Year Old Sulphur Springs Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography by Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 37 year Sulphur Springs man early Wednesday morning for Possession of Child Pornography.

On Tuesday, HCSO was made aware of an outcry made in regards to the possession of videos of a female child. The complainant arrived at the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office to speak with Chief Investigator Weatherford and Investigator Shaw.
While speaking with investigators, the complainant aware of a possible location of the suspect, Derrick Edward Morris. Deputies were able to locate and speak with Morris.
Morris consented for Deputies to transport him to the Hopkins County Sheriffs Office to speak with investigators. Due to the voluntary statements provided by the complainant and the information obtained at this point of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Possession of Child Pornography.
Morris is currently held at Hopkins County Jail
