Joe Wayne “Papaw” Jordan Obituary

Graveside service for Joe Wayne “Papaw” Jordan, age 94, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Pontotoc Cemetery, Pontotoc, Oklahoma.  There will be no formal visitation.  Mr. Jordan passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020.

Joe was born on September 1, 1926 in Fitzhugh, OK to John and Estelle (Jones) Jordan.  He married Meleta Winton on March 21, 1948 in Fittstown, OK.  He served in the U.S Army.  Joe was a pipefitter and a member of the Pipefitters Union.  He was an avid gardener and fisherman.  Joe was a member of the Cedar Crest Christian Church.

He is survived by his children, Jo Ann Steele and husband, Keith of Sulphur Springs, Mike Jordan and wife, Gale of Corsicana; grandchildren, KJ Steele and wife, Erin, Casey Steele, Brett Watson Jordan, Tyler Mahan, Tyler Reed Jordan; brothers, Onus and Cotton Jordan.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
