Ronald David Bailey, 31, allegedly struck the Correction’s Officer in the face several times during a physical altercation. The staff member had injury to his bottom lip and redness around their neck. Surveillance video confirmed the staff member’s account of the incident.

Bailey is in custody for a first-degree murder charge for the stabbing of Kendale Shawn Qualls in April. He plead guilty last week and was given a 35 year sentence. An additional charge for Assault of a Public Servant has been added.
